Jess was a labor and delivery nurse for 10 years. Her career ended dramatically when a family achieved their plan of father catching his baby 100% unassisted by hospital staff. Jess followed the law of informed consent and was punished for it. Now she guides women through The Matrona Birthkeepers Midwifery Cohort. She uses her wisdom, stories, and experience to help her students understand the medical model while learning how to support a family holistically. When not talking about both she if a solo parent of four, two who were freebirthed on her homestead in N. Idaho. Home birth , homeschool, homemade, home healed she wants to take everything back home, and she’s teaching others to do the same.

The Matrona has a new program coming for doulas who want to dive deeper into birth but don't want to dedicate a year studying to be a midwife.
